Thom Filicia’s Lake House

I don’t know about you, but this week has been crazy busy, I am ready for the weekend.  Lately, I have been working a lot on the local interior design project I started back in January (I will try to update you soon) and last weekend was Bridge Day in Fayetteville, WV.

Bridge Day is an annual event in Fayetteville.  It is the largest extreme sporting events in the world.  It was insane watching the base jumpers fling themselves off of the 876′ high New River Gorge Bridge.  My cousins came to visit, joining in the weekend festivities.  Sunday afternoon we all went ziplining at Burning Rock Outdoor Adventure Park.  It was a blast!  It was my first time, I will definitely do it again.  It is such a free feeling flying through the trees with the wind in your face.

This photo was taken after we finished the zip. Fun times! From left to right Me, Drew Higgs, Mary Morton, and Sarah Morton

With everything going on this week, I feel like I need a little getaway…

As I was browsing through October’s issue of House Beautiful I ran across Thom Filicia’s Lake House, which was featured this month.  The design is so casual and inviting it immediately started singing my name…

Are you ready to sneak away with me to the lake for a little R & R?

Can you imagine a weekend here?  Which room is your favorite?

I love them all, but I can definitely see myself gazing at the lake through the large wall of windows in the living room or curling up with a good book in the sun room.  For more photos of the lake house visit House Beautiful.

Happy Humpday!
