DIY File: 6 Fabulous Upholstered Headboard Tutorials

When I purchased my first home in 2006, before Alfred and before blogs, my mom and I built an upholstered headboard for my new bedroom.  Overall, the design is simple, but the project was a success.  To this day Alfred and I use it in our guest room.

In our next home, I would like to use an upholstered headboard…but this time I would like build another one adding a little more style to the design.

Here are a few of my favorite tutorials for upholstered headboards, click the link below the round-up to visit the tutorial.

Blog Crush: My Best Friend Craig

This week I stumbled upon a new to me blog, My Best Friend Craig, have you heard of it?  Let me tell you, if you have not you HAVE to visit.

Charmaine blogs about simple, affordable ways to decorate a home and she is good!  Yesterday, she featured all of her Craigslist finds.  I don’t know how she does it, she has found some incredible items and the not so incredible one’s are ah-mazing after she is finished working her magic on them.

Do you ever find anything good on Craigslist?  I have never found anything.  I keep looking, but so far, no luck.

Here are a few fabulous finds from Charmaine’s blog…

Look at those gold shelves…gorgeous!  Yup, a Craigslist find.

Check out this before and after…

This is a Craigslist find too.  I am not going to lie, I may have walked away, but…

Check it out now.  When I first saw the transformation I could not believe it, stunning.

I really can not believe the transformation on that piece.

There is way more where that came from on My Best Friend Craig.  I am so happy I stumbled upon Charmaine’s blog.

One more photo…and then head over and see for yourself.

Charmaine recently shared photos from the kid’s bathroom remodel, how cute is this bathroom?

I love the black and white hexagon flooring and beadboard and the sweet little green stools are the perfect touch for a kid’s bathroom.

DIY File…Headboard Design

Image via Rachel Oliver Decorative Design

This AM as I was scrolling through pinterest and I stumbled upon this image of a guest room by Rachel Oliver. I love the treatment of framed fabric/wallpaper behind the headboards.  It creates a focal point in the space, immediately drawing your eye into the room.  What were you first drawn to in this space?

It got my creative wheels turning and I haven been thinking of all of the ways I could use a similar treatment of framed wallpaper, or fabric to create a focal point behind the bed in our next home.  My idea is to use the framed design as the headboard.

What do you think?  Do you think the framed design would work as a headboard?  I am starting to file ideas away for our next house :) , this may just have to go in that file.

PS: I apologize for the site being up and down the past few days.  I believe the issue is solved and hopefully it won’t happen again.  Thank you for your patience.
