I hope you have a Merry Christmas filled with peace, love, family and friends.
Merry Christmas!
Interior Design and DIY blog
With less than a week until Christmas my little apartment has finally been dressed for Christmas. I kept the decorations simple this year, focusing mainly on my fireplace with touches of greenery throughout the rest of the apartment. This year, I did not use many of my regular Christmas decorations. I pulled out the garland and my Swarovski crystal stars. I have boxes and boxes packed away for next year. I liked keeping it simple this year, I think just the right amount of Christmas can be found throughout my apartment…
What do you think?
I’m really excited about how my stacked wood fireplace turned out! I think it really cozies up my apartment and adds interest to the fireplace.
I added a little tree, but the size was awkward in my apartment so I took it down. Little sprigs of pine replaced my tree this year.
Do you use the same decorations every year, or do you switch it up from year to year?

I hope you had a lovely weekend. Mine was nice and relaxing. I caught up on a little bit of work and gathered some items to start my holiday decorating this week!
As I mentioned in Friday’s post, this year I am going to have to get creative with my Christmas tree. I have enjoyed a large tree of my very own for many years. I started the tradition of picking out a 5′ real tree the day after Thanksgiving when I was 13. I would lug it home and set-it up in my bedroom. I then went to work twisting the lights onto each branch, adding the ornaments and finally put it on a timer. Every night fall I would fall asleep to the twinkling lights of Christmas.
This will be the first year I have not had room for a tree at least 5′, but I am kind of excited about starting a new tradition. For those of you decorating a small space this year or those of you who just want to add a touch of green throughout, here are a few inspirations for you to get you inspired about decorating with small trees…
When I first realized I would not have room for a Christmas tree I was a little bummed, but after so many beautiful inspirations I am up to challenge and really excited.

Last weekend, I spent a little bit of time contemplating my next project. I think I have finally decided it will be the kitchen… I am getting the itch to paint again and my cream, over-sized, sterile kitchen is starting to get the best of me. The rental kitchen is large and very open. It [...]

BAM! for Bold Geometrics I was reading an article recently on lighting trends to watch for in 2013. One trend that was mentioned in the article was sculptural lighting. Sculptural lighting combine function and art, creating a bold statement in a space. One style of sculptural lighting in particular continues to catch my eye is, [...]
