Last week was almost unanimous…only one Slam and a whole lot of BAM for Industrial Lighting!
Recently, I was talking to my mom on the phone. During our conversation the topic of painted floors came up. This week, I wanna know…
Do you like the look…and would you be brave enough to paint your floors?

BAM or SLAM!?

HI Elizabeth,
Definitely a Bam! Now we just have to find out what kind of paint they use to make it last!

I love the look—but I doubt I’d paint my floors. I love, love, love natural wood—so I guess this is a SLAM for me? I do appreciate the look in the right space, however, I am a chicken.
it’s a bam for me if i was in a house that had wood floors in really poor shape and i was going to live there forever. otherwise, i think it would be harder to sell…. but i love the look!

BAM. I like the look. if I had decent hardwoods, I would never do this. It just seems like a waste but I love it when others do it. I gotta wonder though how long they look that good? my parents have a painted wood floors on their porch and have to repaint them every 5 years or so.

I LOVE it. I painted some stairs and that made me fall in love with the look of painted floors…..durable, easy to keep clean, and so many fun designs that you could do. I particularly love it in a beach house but these polished spaces you shared are really beautiful!

Bam! Without a doubt!
I love it, but I don’t think I’d ever have the guts to pull it off.

BAM! I love the look, but wouldn’t be able to do it long term and live with it. Maybe only in a bathroom or sunroom?
A big BAM for me!! I love the white washed look, but I think I’d be too scared to try it in my home!

BAM all the way!!!!
Love, Love, Love Them! Now if you could just be sure they would hold up under daily use . . .
What an incredible
different feel they give a room. BAM!
I don’t think I’ll have the opportunity to in the near future — but I do enjoy the look of painted floors in the right space! I especially love the look of painted white wood floors without design. Great BAM!

It’s a BAM for the pictures above, but a SLAM on me doing it myself in my own home. However, I think I would try it if I had an old beach house.
I so love it, but I kind of agree with Stacey. Love it in the photos, but I don’t think it would work in my current home. In my forever home, definitely. Still a bam though!

BAM! ~ as long as there would be an incredible sealer. My brother & s-i-l did stained concrete when they redid my mother’s house….absolutely gorgeous & so easy to clean.

This is going to be a slam for me – I wouldn’t bother in my own home. The thought of painting the floors just doesn’t get me excited.

BAM – I really love the look! I don’t think I am brave enough to try it inside, but outside on a screen porch I am all over it!!

Bam,bam, love pic with table at end of room w/yellow chairs. Floor is so clean looking and sophisticated.
I’d love to paint the tile floors in our home but hubs says no. Not like I can paint them while he’s gone somewhere as he’s always home or with me somewhere. (sometimes little too much togetherness for me). The tile to me looks dirty, it’s off- white with lines thru it, UGH! I scrub and scrub but never looks clean to me altho I know I just did cleaned the heck out of it.
BAM BAM BAM!!!!!! I would die to have a kitchen or hallway with painted floors!!!!!!!! xoxo

I love the painted floors, Elizabeth! BAM for me! A great affordable solution to problem floors but also the chance to inject some personality. Winning!!

Love painted floors! But—we just painted our stairs and attic with Benjamin Moore porch and patio paint and we are only a month in and it’s showing wear and tear…now I do have a 13 year old boy with lots of friends running in and out of the house…but still…a month? People have kids and dogs with painted floors…just wondering what others experiences.

Bam! I love the painted floor look and I would do it, but no way would my husband be up for painted floors.
This is a big BAM for me. It’s such a sustainable and affordable option to paint floors instead of installing new. As to lovelythings comment about wear and tear, I’ve actually found that regular paint with a water-based urethane on top works better than porch paint for durability. The key is in the top coat. You can get the urethane in glossy, eggshell or flat. I use it on top of everything I paint.

Akthough I love the first photo I have to say Slam. I just picture them all chipping away!!
Definitely bam! (that means I like it, right?) I actually am beginning to plan this for my own home. When we had the floors refinished seven years ago, we went across the country to avoid the mess. We had been SO CLEAR with the guys doing the work. Came home and found NOT AT ALL WHAT WE WANTED!!!! Had to live with it because we needed to be back in the house. So since that time I have entertained several ideas and have landed on painting the floors! Yeeha! Can’t wait.
So glad that BLE was a BAM! Thanks for featuring us. And I think painted wood flooring is a total BAM. Especially chevron patterns and rustic white finishes.

I do not know what to say. May be it is a bit of a slam and bam. The thing is, I really love the color of natural wood especially when it is well-maintained but the fourth picture is just equally beautiful. If I will find enough courage to paint my floors, I will certainly do it like this (fourth picture). Thank you for this post.
It is definitely a bam! A first I always thought that painting wooden floors will never be an option but as I came to know more of it and see several other designs, I change my view of it. This will definitely be a great way of adding more style and some personal touch to your floor. The fourth and the fifth are absolutely glamorous.

A big Bam! I work with epoxy a lot and I’ve been wanting to do something like this at my house. I’ve experimented with painted table tops coated with epoxy and then polyurethane. The wife needs to see this! If you want to do <a href=http://allgaragefloors.com/epoxy-flooring/concrete with epoxy, it’s easy as well.
