Guest Post: Mandy from Cre8ive Motives

Hi there! I’m Mandy from Cre8ive Motives. I’m so thrilled to be guest posting on Elizabeth’s blog. I have been a huge fan of hers for awhile now. So much that I have her on my blog roll. That way I never miss any of her fabulous posts. Every time I visit I know I will leave inspired.
So today I want to share a simple project I did that helped spruce up my kitchen island. I don’t know about you but designing a kitchen has always been a challenge for me. It’s the only room in the house I find difficult to work with. But I do love me a challenge every now and then!
For the longest time I did not know what to add to the island. I knew I wanted something small, simple but pretty. In the past I have added fruit bowls, candles, platters or just left it empty.
As I was searching for ideas I came across the perfect solution - a hydrangea arrangement. Unlike Madonna the prima donna….. I love hydrangea’s! They are so lush and beautiful and come in a variety of colors.

I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased 9 artificial stems in white and green that had a “realistic” look to them. I could of just opted to get the real deal but I wanted something maintenance free. I also got a glass bowl and that fake water stuff called Craft Water(two bottles).

I followed the instructions in back of the box and started arranging my faux hydrangeas. Thirty minutes later…I’m done!
It really jazzes up my kitchen island!
Thanks Elizabeth for having me today and letting me share this fun project with all of your readers. I had a blast!
