Guest Post: Kristin from The Hunted Interior

I’m Kristin from The Hunted Interior & I’m so excited to be at The Mustard Ceiling today.  Like most of you, I’m sure, I am addicted to Pinterest.  No really, it’s a problem.  I pin all the time & find myself being inspired for my interiors (& my clients) by the most random things.  When looking for inspiration for a dining room… you don’t have to just look at dining rooms.  I pull most of my favorite color combinations & pattern plays from fashion shots, floral arrangements & artwork.
Here are a few examples of images that have helped inspire our interior:

I am a sucker for anything black & white & I also love mixing metals, so when I was giving our kitchen a face lift I included all of my favorite things.  If it works for you in an image… it will work for your interior as well.

Not shy about mixing colors, I took cues from this image to incorporate a few more colors to our already colorful Cozamia print.

This simple image ties all the colors of our dining room together, including the incorporation of the ceramics.

The next time you are pinning something it just might inspire you in an entirely new way.

I’d love for you to come on over & join me on the hunt for great design & some unique DIY’s.  Here are a few of our latest creations:

Thanks again for having me Elizabeth!

  6. I love your style Kristen…especially how you mix metals. Combining tones of silver and gold look so interesting and collected…not staged and “decorated”. And that pendant light over your sink…brilliant!
