BAM for last week’s wallpaper accent wall!
I completely agree with last week’s BAM. Overall, I feel that wallpaper is perfect for an accent wall.
Wallpaper, depending on the pattern, can get a little overwhelming when it is used throughout a room, but a little pattern can go a long way. Wallpaper can be a terrific way to introduce pattern and color into a space without overwhelming it. Thanks Holly for bringing this topic to my attention last week!
This week, let’s talk IKAT…are you still a fan?

BAM or SLAM!?
Are there any design trends you would like to see discussed on BAM or SLAM? I am always looking for new topics.

For me, ikat is a bam for pillows, curtains and textiles. Slam on furniture…it’s just too much pattern and texture over such a large area. So I guess that’s a half bam, half slam!

I am OBSESSED with ikat still and think I will be for a while. As for the accent wall, I usually say NO. BUT, I’m pretty sure the only way I could afford badass wallpaper would be in a very small quantity so I have to say yes to this particular look. I’ve seen it several times off kitchens too and love it!

I love ikat! BUT I personally would tire of it on a wall – even though that tile above is amazing!!! Perfect for pillows.

Why yes–I am still LOVING ikat. BAM for me!
Total BAM for me!! It’s softer than a geometric pattern, more structure than a floral — perfection!

BAM! I think I’m more of a fan now than I was when it first started trending on the blogosphere.

Never been a huge fan of ikat…so it’s in the slammer for me. I could possibly do a subtle ikat like those neutral ones in the third to last shot. But overall…just not diggin’ it.

Its a BAM for me! Perfect for pillows, accents, rugs, heck I think I would even wear it!
Bam! Love iy but not on walls. Rugs and pillows are awesome!

Still love it, although not the multicolored versions, which is weird, I know. I prefer ikats in 1 color + white!

BAM for the ikat headboard and pillows picture!!!! I love the idea of mixing it up with another print. But just by itself…not really my style. It’s still very pretty though! xoxo Elizabeth

HUGE GIGANTIC BAM for me!! I am in love with Ikat! I am hoping to use it somewhere in my house. I have always been attracted to fabrics that have an “international” feel.

bam in small doses! i couldn’t live with ikat drapes or a rug, but accents, chairs, yes!

I am a definite BAM!! on the ikat! It’s just such a neat look…I think you can go overboard with it for sure, but in the right spots or doses, I love it!

BAM for Ikat for me. It has a rustic, ethnic feel and is perfect as a drapery, pillow or chair seat accent.
BAM! I heart IKAT! I reupholstered a small cane chair for our bedroom and it’t the perfect accent to the space. Thanks for sharing!
What are thoughts on painted ceilings? I’m still on the fence.

Total BAM in small doses. I couldn’t handle it on a large piece like a couch!

BAM depending on the colors. Some prints I love and others I could do without out. Like I love the print on the dining chairs but the wallpaper wall behind the bathroom sink I don’t love. I guess someone else said it…same doses it’s a BAM for me and a SLAM if too much.

BAM for it in small doses, SLAM for anything big. Too busy for my taste. But since I only recently figured out what “ikat” meant, and therefore feel smart, I’ll stick with an overall BAM.

A big Bam for me for anything ikat. I’ve also found it interesting in going back to some of my older magazines that ikat isn’t anything new – it’s been used for a little while now in design but I guess it’s even more mainstream now. I love that it can be found in so many different colors and patterns and price points. I’m a big fan.

I like it for other people, but it is a SLAM for me. I would get tired of that pattern in about a month. Nice to visit, wouldn’t want to live there.
