BAM for last weeks design discussion…OMBRE!
This week I had a special request from Holly at West Pear Avenue. She tweeted me last week and asked me to do a follow up to accent walls.
Two weeks ago, we discussed accent walls in general. This week, Holly wants to know how you feel about wallpapered accent walls.
Are you a fan?
BAM or SLAM?
This week I am giving away two blogger pre-made designs. If you haven’t entered yet, click here to enter.

I’m more on board with wallpaper for an accent wall (much more so than paint) but I’m so curious what everyone else thinks…

i don’t care about all the designers that say accent walls are silly…. i know nate berkus doesn’t like them for one. well i like them. wallpapered or painted. i like them.

I think a focal wall is a good thing however it might be achieved – wall paper, a different wall color, stenciling, artwork. I say Bam. If you like it, why not!
BAM! Wallpapered or stenciled, I’m definitely a fan.

In the past I would have said, no, but I think they’re growing on me. If Holly were choosing my wallpaper a definite BAM, she has quite the eye!

A total BAM for me! It creates a new dimension to a room and adds character!

Definite BAM! It’s like a vibrant shirt with a classic pair of dress pants. Gives a little pizzaz to a room!

Looks like a lot of bang for the buck! Why not?
Im not a huge painted accent wall fan-but wallpaper is a different story. I say BAM- I have it in my laundry room and its just enough-if I were to have wallpapered the whole room it would have been way too much.
BAM! I think it’s a great way to bring in pattern, without the pattern becoming too overwhelming (if the pattern was on all four walls).
I like them if they are used as an “accent” (meaning a small area). I prefer entry ways, end of halls, or somewhere where you don’t have to look at them in your living space and feel overwhelmed by them.
Looks pretty, but a pain to remove if you want a change. So I say slam.
BAM! I did a wallpaper accent wall in my office and love it. I am not a fan of a painted accent wall though.
I definitely say BAM for stenciled or wallpapered walls! It can be just enough pattern without overwhelming the space. Good idea, Holly!

I absolutely love wall covering! And to use as just an accent wall is so much fun. I love it when they are used for the back of a bookshelf too!!

Basically, BAM!
But my feelings for accent walls–be it painted or paper–are still, “I love them in the right application!”

As a whole–BAM! These are definitely good examples…I don’t like them in all cases though–but I do prefer wall-papered accent walls to painted accent walls.
Bam! I like a different effect whether it’s painted, stenciled, wallpapered, whatever. It’s up to the person living in the space ~ not some designer.

I think BAM! It allows us to use a bold, loud or bright pattern/colour in a room without it being too much!
