One of my reader’s emailed me a few weeks ago and asked me if I could share a few simple decorating tips for renters. She and her husband recently moved into a rental home and they are limited to what can they can do to make it feel like “home.”
I thought I would run a small series over the next few weeks on easy ways to decorate a rental. Here are a few simple tips to get them started on the right track…
Soften your Space with Fabric…
Create a focal wall in the bedroom with an upholstered headboard.

Use throw pillows as an easy, inexpensive way to add color, pattern and your style to a rental.

Liz,
I have been fantasizing about making a fabric headboard for years…only I’m sure you too, can imagine the look of serious doubt on D’s face, when all those supplies show up, right? My family is finally visiting this summer…..maybe I’ll give it a shot. PS- I wanna be the chick who can decorate like picture #1 AND wear those awesome heels all day long. Whatever!
Wonderful tips. Fabric is a real game-changer. Love the curtains idea, too! They always make a huge impact!
