I have been really the busy the past few weeks working on blog designs, which makes me excited! Thank you for thinking of me. Today I thought I’d share a few that I have just finished up…
I also wanted to take some time to talk a little about WordPress vs. Blogger.
Lately, I have been getting more and more emails from clients and reader’s asking about making the switch to WordPress. Have you thought about it? If so, I highly recommend it.
I have told a lot of my reader’s this story, when they ask about switching…When I first started my blog, I started on Blogger and happily stayed on Blogger for 9 months. Honestly, the only reason I decided to make the switch to WordPress was because I wanted to learn how to design on it and figured I should make my blog the “guinea pig.” I migrated everything in November and haven’t looked back. Today I can’t imagine going back to Blogger.
A couple things I love about WordPress…
The most important thing I like about WordPress.org (self-hosted) is that you have control over your blog. Blogger is owned by Google, which means, your blog is owned by Google, even if you’re using a custom domain. At any time they can delete your blog without warning. The really scary thing is, it’s been known to happen. On WordPress, you are in control of your blog.
The second thing I think is amazing about WordPress…the customization options and support. I have had several reader’s and client’s emailing me lately because their email links are broken, or their social sharing buttons are broken on Blogger.
On WordPress and Blogger things happen, we are working with technology. However, I feel that finding support on WordPress is much easier than it is with blogger…and don’t even get me started on the customization options with WordPress.
WordPress truly spoils you with their plugins. There is a plugin for just about anything you could possibly want to customize on WordPress.
I know WordPress is not for everyone and I truly love designing blogs on WordPress and Blogger. However, I did want to share a couple reason’s why I like WordPress because I have been getting more and more questions about it and figure many of you reading may similiar questions. Please feel free to contact me if you have additional questions or if you’re ready to get started on a new blog design visit TMC Designs.
Have you thought about making the switch? Or have you made the switch, I would love to hear your opinions.
