Today, I would like to welcome the very talented Sherry from Design Indulgence!
Thanks Sherry for stopping by today share some juicy tidbits on The Inside Scoop. Let me tell you, you’re in for a treat with this post! I am sure you all are familiar with Sherry’s gorgeous blog, Design Indulgence, if not, you must stop by for a visit…after the post of course.
I graciously accept this award…..What? It’s not an award….OH…a Guest Post….well I can do that!
When you are a guest, don’t you get to sit back and relax? Uh….nope….in blogland that is where you work and the blogger takes a vaca. Things are flipity flop here.
How would I describe my design style?Probably more on the classic….a dash of traditional…a dash of modern….a dash of vintage….am I scaring you? Let me just show you a few pictures of rooms I like.
I have had this picture in my files forever. Those shutters kill me. And just the organic feeling of the whole room. I love everything about it even though it’s probably 5-6 years old.
Texture….with weathered furniture and a crystal chandelier…..makes me cry. Plus it is definitely neutrals done right!
Classic….will still look good in 10 years I bet.
A kitchen to swoon over for sure. Once again…I think this will also stand the test of time.
So there you have it…my style.
What are your three best tips to achieve a great design.
3 huh? OK…let’s see. Have a plan. It doesn’t have to be written in stone but a plan will keep you from missing the mark. And from making mistakes when you for some reason change course in the middle. Every once in a while edit your rooms. Twice a year go through and change your accessories. Move them around…freshen up a little. Change out a pillow or two. Ha Ha….or 10….or 15….you decide. I can hardly say two pillows without busting out laughing. Those of you who know me are probably snorting right now.
Finish one room. Don’t spread your money around the whole house. An unfinished room will drive you crazy. I always try to keep my clients from doing this.
Finish this sentence…..No room is complete without……good lighting. Really, just like in photos you need light to make a room beautiful.7. Who is the hottest actor…..just kidding that really was not on the list….but in my opinion it’s
George……just in case you were dying to know.
K…..guess that about wraps it up.
Thanks Elizabeth…and thank you guys for reading……
Sherika….AKA

Isn’t everything better with a little George and a little Sherry? I really love Sherry’s classic style and that is so true that the rooms will still be beautiful in 10 years. And I really want to go down and do some shopping with Sherry because I think she would be a blast and then she can give me some design advice too. Great post Sherry!
i adore sherry’s style! she is SO good at what she does!
Loved this….happy to discover your blog too! Sherika’s wicked wit is so up my alley and I totally “get” it, then matched with her talents….this dynamo is unstoppable. Love Sherry, Love her blog. I don’t think she realizes how truly talented she is. I love just about everything she does. I think her design aesthetic is spot on. She is never predictable or boring both in rooms and in life. I am so glad to have gotten to know her through blogland. She is a dear sweet lady that i hope to meet someday!!! I am going to have to work on that.

Thanks you guys…I am feeling the love
And thank you Elizabeth for being all nosy and everything…you made me think! Hope you are having a great vacation….
First I was going to comment on what a great redo of her little powder room but then I saw the pic of possibly the best example of the male species around so must comment on that…oh yea…the powder is cute too.
Great post – I love that bathroom makeover. The bird prints, the big mirror…divine!
I love Sherika’s “have a plan and change the accessories out”. I would like her to have a glass of wine at my house and let her play with all my accessories.
I may have become a stalker….Sherry cracks me up! I am so glad she was guest posting or I would not have found this great blog….I need to finish the 10 projects around this house I started this morning, but I may sit and read a few more posts!
Love Sherry as always. I can honestly say that she has taught me more than anyone about design and staying true to myself. She is hilarious and always there when I need her!
